WHO’S YOUR HERO?

One Revolution will celebrate stories of resilience and integrity through its Who’s Your Hero Tour - Seattle, WA (September 1, 2013)      San Diego, CA (October 31, 2013).

Everybody loves a hero.  It is human nature to love the hero’s story because we can live vicariously through the experience.  It makes us feel good.  However, so many of our heroes seem to be letting us down.  Youth today need heroes.  They need stories of resilience and integrity to guide them as they navigate the difficult terrain of childhood.  Our youth need to understand that when they face challenge, they have choices.
One Revolution’s Who’s Your Hero Tour is designed to highlight heroes—people that have demonstrated resilience and integrity.  While some of these heroes might be well known, others are not.  They are simply people who have made choices to stand up for what they believe and have demonstrated strength as they were confronted with struggle.
Heroes are an integral party of community, and community contributes to resilience. Help us in celebrating heroes and building community through individual stories of resilience and integrity! Who’s your hero? Send us your story to:  info@one-revolution.org, telling us who your hero is. These stories may be used to help inspire, and may be highlighted along our journey.
Beginning in Seattle, Chris Waddell and the One Revolution team will ride nearly 1,500 miles to San Diego, making Nametags TM educational presentations at schools and visiting adaptive sports and VA facilities along the way. Connecting with the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) Dodge Million Dollar Challenge in San Francisco on October 11th, One Revolution will join the MDC ride along the coast arriving in San Diego on October 18th. Additional Nametags TM presentations are being scheduled in Southern California following the ride.  Guest rider slots are available in various segments between Seattle – San Francisco.
No matter who we are, we will face challenges and adversity. Chris Waddell's achievements transcend what others believe he can achieve given his disability. The Nametags™ programs push people to challenge the assumptions and limitations that result from the labels that we give to ourselves and others. Nametags™ does not focus on disability, but rather the universal experience of challenge and the power of resilience. The program centers on the message: "It's not what happens to you. It's what you do with what happens to you". Nametags™ is endorsed by nationally recognized anti-bullying expert Joel Haber.
Nametags™ presentations are now being scheduled along the West Coast! To bring 13X Paralympian Chris Waddell to a school of your choice for a Nametags™ presentation, or host a screening of the award-winning documentary of Chris’s historic journey to the roof of Africa – 1 Revolution, call (801) 510-9684.
A coast-to-coast tour will take place in 2014, highlighting heroes across the nation! One Revolution’s mission is to change the way people see others with disabilities by highlighting our universal struggle.  We all face challenges in life; however, it’s not what happens to you. It’s what you do with what happens to you.
Submitting your story and/or photographs grants One Revolution Foundation permission to use your story in any print or digital media. First names only will be used to protect anonymity. Thank you for your support.
